Hi,

I've been playing a few weeks now and doing well as the Ottomans in the GC. However most of the time I attack someone their allies join in against me fair enough).

I have never yet seen one of my allies join in on my side? Do I have to do something to ask them to participate??

Thanks

andy
PS I am on version 1.07c

Pre-S: Upgrade to a more recent version once you finsih this campaign.

Check your allies and see what their relations are to you. The worse the relations the more likely they are to bail out on you. You might have had a +150 when you entered the alliance but if you've been agressive and expansionist that number might well have dropped quite a bit. You really have to keep on top of the relations numbers becuase things will change (rather dramatically) sometimes and almost always not to your benefit. I always revist my allies at the start of each year and check their relations with me and where necessary throw them a letter of introduction if I've got the spare cash lying about.

Yes you need to ask them

If you declare war (or someone declares war on you), you should see a small box on upper right corner of the screen. Click on it and you will get an option to ask your allies to join the war.

It would be wiser to edit message options (options-> message settings) so it pops up. This way you won't miss it.

PS. Download new patch.

This past week, until some players helped with this I was as lost as you. The result was one landing by the Pskov Troops from Hell, and a mini-version of the Spanish Armada landing in Vastergotland (I was playing Sweden).
Don't think all those good alliances you have will help you though. If the alliance leader makes peace you will receive nothing. So whatever you do, be the leader in an alliance.

The one who can make peace for the entire alliance is NOT the ordinary (peace time) alliance leader, but the temporary alliance leader for that war, ie the country who declared war or was DOW:ed.

Hi guys,

thanks for the replies, my allies have a low opinion of me now, and in the early days when they still liked me I may have missed the little box in the top right of the screen, i'll try and find which one it is in the message configuration screen and change it to pop up.
