Getting old mech games running on modern systems

Use to play mech commander gold all the time on zone.com when i was 13 years old... now it's been for ever 19 years later.. see battle tech game mae

I'm watching the DFA series for the first time. In one of them someone bought a power up tand said "Hey Mitch, this is for the last mission of Mechcommander" and the power ups were for his enemies team. It was glorious.

I don't recall if I ever did beat Mechcommander 1. I did 2 for sure. Likewise I'm pretty sure I never did beat the Ghost Bear's Legacy expansion for Mechwarrior 2, don't think I got past that underwater mission.

Brilliant post Gunsmith, you are officially An Hero. I had MechCommander 1 running fine, but MC2 ran only once after installing it and then refused to launch no matter how many sledgehammers I applied to it. I hate using cracked executables, but that seems to have fixed the antiquated copy protection problems that were the source of my grief. An anti-DRM argument if there ever was one, seeing as how I have my original discs sitting right here yet was unable to use them...

I have Mechcommander 2 and haven't been able to play it since 2007 on a old machine. Wish I had a windows NT disk and enough space to put these games on.
