I still have a couple of queries and comments.

-In the archive what is the history folder (no. 33) for? The games I have played it never shows any info and I don't see any mention of it in the manual.

-This had me confused at first: on the map there is a province called Kremenburg but in the colony information window it is called Yekaterinoslav. I am guessing this is just a translation anomaly. There are a lot of other provinces like this.

-When colonising is the 'suitability' rating the chance of success taking ALL factors into account, ie soldiers present, winter, previous attempts ?

-Is there anyway to find out a colony's COT before taking it over ?

-Back in the archive, what is a city's manpower score? Most of mine are 0 but my biggest cities have a 1.

-When crossing oceans what is the best thing to do? At the moment my naval exploits are limited to quick dashes out of port at most a couple of seazones away and then head back before I start losing ships from attition. Say I wanted to do a trans-Atlantic crossing should I just build a huge fleet as a buffer against atttition or wait until my naval tech gets higher ?

-Is there any advantage in continually sending colonists to a city? It seems to me there is a maximum production and trade value to any province, so any benefit from making my cities as big as the capital ?

TIA

Lots of questions. I'll try and tackle one. On ships, keep the fleet small, about five ships because of the way the attrition calc works. Better yet, wait till you get an Explorer because they reduce attrition. Establish colonies to serve as resupply posts for ships.

- Page 33 is a feature which didn't get implemented in the end.

- They're may be a difference between the province's name and the city in it ? (if that's what u mean)

- I would think so. Not xure though.

- Nah, not really, but looking at the trade map should give u a fair idea. GAme experience helps a bit too.

- Haven't got a clue.

- See above.

- The more populous a city, the more they produce, so they earn u more cash. It's better to go for more colonies though and build a city at a strategic location.

The name in the colony information window is the name of the major city in that province. For example, Paris is the name in the CIW of the province Ile de France.

First of all I suggest reading Huszics and Oranges FAQs, they answer a lot of your questions.
Huszics: http://members.nbci.com/huszics/indexeu.html
Oranges: http://home.hetnet.nl/~copia-fs/

-folder no. 33 is not implemented yet, we can always hope for it to be in a future patch :)

-colonising success depends on a lot of factors, read Huszics FAQ.

-As for COT's check the economic map, it has something to do with the colors.

- Manpower is how many recrutable soldiers this provinces adds to the total each year.

-I usually cross the oceans exactly like you, short dashes to save ships from attrition, then try to get a colony (not a tradepost, as these don't have harbors) on the other side as a 'coaling-station'. Trans-Atlantic discovering is usually done in 2 or 3 dashes (say 3 or 4 sea-zones/dash), so you don't have to build a fleet or wait for naval-tech.

- I send colonists at first to claim the land, later on to build colonies until they reach a positive growth-rate, after that I don't send any more colonists.
