Well, first of all: awesome mod! I'm enjoying restoring the Roman Empire a lot!

I started as the Dux of Neapolix, I was a Classical Imperial Cult country, conquered Rome and started retaking Italy. The problem is I REALLY NEED to revoke the titles to the crhistian people, because they hate me like -50 for legalice slavery, and I tried to centralize my country to be able to revoke titles, but I discovered that you need 3 points in Divine Rights, that's a lot of time waiting, so I seized power by force with the new decisions in the Intrigue menu. I instantly became centralized but I also became Absolutist, and I don't wanna be absolutist, I went back to simply State Domination, the thing that I was before I seized power, but I'm still Absolutist. Is there any way to became Classical again? I saw a lot of npc starting as absolutist that suddenly became Classical, but I don't find the way to do that.

If you go back to Balanced you should no longer be Absolutists.

Reactions:
This is Working As Designed: you centralized by force, this could not have happened in a true "classical" government, which is actually rather decentralized... So you had to use absolute state power. Now that you gave the State absolute power, it will not relinquish it so easily...

Ok, that makes sense, thanks! I'm trying to go back to Balanced and Classical goverment cause I have the Wrong Holding problem (absolutist goverments can't have cities, but I think that is also work as designed since an absolutist goverment is more like a feudal goverment).

Just asking: I don't need to abandon Minimum Centraliced law, right? Only go back to Balanced State? I really NEED that law cause if not I don't have a way to revoke titles, and that would be my doom in a land surrounded by christians

The tool tip tells you exactly what is needed to go back to Balanced State Control. Nothing more, nothing less :)

As you can see, this does not have any requirement based on other laws. This is because your spiritual power does not depend on the laws of your realm. On the opposite, your spiritual power affects your style of government and therefore your other laws. Look carefully at the impact of reverting back to Balanced State Control.

Indeed, you are experiencing the difficulties of governance in a time when state matters and the ruler's spirituality are closely connected...

Well, Balanced State Control don't say anything about being Classical or not. For example, going to Absolute Control actually says that I will change to Absolutist, but now, going back to Balanced State Control don't say that I will become Classical, that's why I'm asking this. Sorry for my bad english.

Absolutist requires state control law level 3 or 4, so if you go back to balanced you should go back to your religion-preferred government, which in your case would be Classical. I'd have to look at the SELIN matrix to see if all statist religions prefer classical, perhaps @Numahr can clarify.

Indeed the civilization, not the soul, determines the form of government. That is why the government map shows some rather homogeneous blocks. To summarize, the graeco-roman, well, classical world still uses this form of government wherever they have not turned Christian.
Which civilizations have religions with statist souls? (For crafting suitable tooltips.)

Oriental Despotic government is the standard government for religions of Archaic and Persian civilizations + Mandaean religious group

Classical
government is the standard government for religions of Graeco-Roman civilization + for religions of Mithraic, Solar and Neoplatonic religious groups even if belonging to other civilizations.

I'm really surprised by how deep this game is! Thanks for the answers guys, I only hope Angra Mainyu rise again from the ashes (they have three or four provinces now), so I can battle them properly

So, I went back to Balanced State Control and my goverment didn't change back to Classical, I needed to change the capital from Rome to another city of the same county to be able to change it. There isn't any way to change it without doing this thing? (cause change the capital to another city is a pain in the ass)

Were you using the latest build? I put in an explicit change back to Classical.

Seems I had the keyword slightly wrong. Try with the current version.

Oh thought you were using the github version with 2.6.

Yes, the github version is for 2.6.
