I have to admit, that I was a bit sceptical regarding the premises of the campaign, when I first heard of Planetfall. But now I played the tutorial and started the first Vanguard mission and damn... I lost Tappels and Jiang in a fight against Hellhounds. I restarted the map. But qhat I didnt expect was that there would be a reaction from Jack Gelder. It seems really nicely made. I*m looking forward to play the rest of it.

I'm going to do the Blandguard missions as late as possible, so I picked the Kir'Ko mission first. I'm having a blast!

I thought there's been a pretty good pace to the campaign so far as well. Many times when you start up a new game and begin a campaign, things progress too slowly and it loses speed even before it's picked up any. Not this time. Well done!

Been playing the campaign and on the first map after the tutorial, is it possible to save Daiyu Jiang?
If I make a defensive pact, she gets killed, if I inspect the Elysium Parks, she gets killed, at turn 60 she gets killed. Is this a must have to continue the story or is there some way around it?

To save you any more attempts... no you can't save her, it's a story thing so move on.

I like the way they are handling the campaign, the only let down for me is that their is not more voice acting... it's not alot of dialog and it would go a long way to making the campaign feel more impactful.

The way they set up the quests, the map generation and scenarios, i can see how making new campaigns will be a snap... hoping to see some good stuff come out of the modding community.

I'm 4 missions in. Finished the Vanguard line. So far I feel like it's a step backwards in terms of design compared to AOW3. I was skeptical about the random maps, and I was kind of right. There isn't really much challenge. It's mostly just build an army, and march to the quest markers. Which is probably the best they could do for a random map. Where as AOW3 often had the map scripted enough with opponents set up in your way to make it interesting. Though I did think it got too hard too fast. Anyway the one thing I do like about Planetfalls campaign is there seems to be a lot of optional quests, and decisions that can effect how it plays out. When i'm done I will want to go back, and read about all the other routes.

I think it's a bit too much of them. Or their distribution is wrong. A few turns in and your map is shining with quest markers. Some of them require your Hero presence while some do not. And also, due to random maps layout( and i wasn't aware of that) you can be easily cut off from some quest stuff. It won't be a game-over i think, but still not nice, force you into rush a bit too much because your opponents spread in unpredictable ways.
