In the regular version of the GC that ships with the game

a) if i modify one of the main countries to play a minor, does it knock that country i replaced out of the game? For example if i substitute FRA with PRU or AZT or something, will it make France just sit there and not function? Also I wont get conquistadors either right?

b) someone in a review mentioned this, and i quote:
"Second, the game files are easily customizable, allowing you to change little things to explore alternate outcomes. Give the Inca cavalry, unite Italy at the beginning, make American Indians more hostile to colonization."

ok how do i make the american indians more hostile to colonize?

Nope, u just change the playable countries, it has no effect on how the rest of the game runs at all except that France can now be annexed and Prussia can't as playable nations can't be annexed.

You don't need to modify another country to play a minor. The .inc files (with all the real data) can stay the same. The file you should be modifying is 1492(orwhatever).eug. That's the one where you can change FRA to PRU. The only thing that happens is that you cannot look at France's stats in the F6 menu and also France becomes *annexable*, the Prussian wet dream.:)

As for the native americans, give em huge fortresses, advanced tech, mega armies, tons o' cash, and more/bigger provinces. And half of Eurasia. That oughta do it.

Probably the .inc files. 1492.inc, for example. It may take a while to get used to hacking it without corrupting your game. Keep a backup and COUNT THOSE PARENTHESES. Also watch out for id conflicts.
