I've got EU1, but haven't played it for ages. When I played I only played Denmark (and perhaps Sweden). But can you play Savoy or the Byzantic Empire?

Another thing: What are the chances for inheriting a kingdom when you have married away you beatiful daughter? Are there any way of increasing that chance? I've never inherited anything in EU1...

Savoy, yes; Byz, no, not unless you mod them into the game yourself.

To inherit a country, there are a few prereqs. You need to have a Royal Marriage or Vassalization with them, you need to have the highest relations with them of any country which meets the first prereq, and their monarch has to suffer from a random premature death. Oh, and they have to be a non-playable country in the scenario you're playing. In all my times of playing, I've only had it happen once and that in a game where I didn't want to expand in Europe (how ironic is that? :eek:o ).

In the old days, when I still played EU1, I was France which had played carefully on the expanding part, to keep bb down. Then I inherit the sole superpower, my dear ally, the hugest power on Earth, Spain. I suddenly found myself owning half the world(literally) and bb wars all around me. It ruined my game.

BB wars aren't fun, that's why I didn't overexpand.;) Do not think I was small because of that.;)

The uses of RMs:
1. Enemy less likely to go to wars
2. Relations will not drop anymore (or at least, not as much)
3. Vassalization
4. Annexation
5. 1VP/2VP if you take it as a mission
That's it. So RMs DO have more uses than free boosts.
Also, I'm not sure about needing a RM. I just had some fun by typing in "event 25" and "event 37" to increase my relations and check for inherit, respectively, and I could inherit most countries without having RMs.
