How does Core track "xxx_model"-pics?

I've tried to swap the original icons to other and it doesn't really seems to work...

I have checked in the models -excelfile and renamed div-pics to the right names.

In the first case we see "ger_model_1_1" and it obviously works.

In the other case we see Cores standard model even though I have added a icon called "ger_model_1_6" (as well as 1-7, 1-8 and 1-9) in "mod-Core2\GFX\Interface\models".

To make this even more strange - the ill_div pics obviously works for both!!!

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Problem solved.

All "xxx_model" pics must be put in "Hearts of Iron 2\GFX\Interface\models" and not in "Hearts of Iron 2\mod-CORE2\GFX\interface\models".

A bit odd however...

if I understand you correctly you combined the graphics from C.O.R.E. with the one from GIP? Does that work, I mean there are different models names and numbers in C.O.R.E than in GIP

Correct - you have to rename alot of the modells!

I'd also like to know how to incorporate the GIP graphics. I like them a lot and would like to continue to use them with CORE.

Can anyone post step-by-step instructions on how to do this? I tried moving all the graphics into the core-gfx-models folder, but it didnt work.

you must manually match/rename the proper model pictures to the proper units in C.O.R.E. since it has a lot of new units and the order/naming is changed...

babylox, is it normal that almost all unit pictures are wrong? Instead of PZI - PZ II picture I have a WWI tank picture, instead of PZ III tank there is a NbFz IV, the same goes for aircrafts,...

Is this normal or is my installation messed up and I should reinstall?

edit: Sort of OT, I can research 1939 heavy industry and I noticed that it allows the building of new building type, that's industrial capacity. But I can build new IC even before I research it. Is this therefor a bug or I've missed something?

its normal. HoI displays the unit pictures based on model numbers. CORE has changed them (the model numbers) compared to vanilla, but HoI does, of course, not know this. All should be fine once the CORE graphics pack comes around (whenever that may be)

What Archangel85 said. We decided not to release the graphics with the actual installer to cut down size, but it'll come (sooner rather than later).
