Unfortunately this image just cut off the version and checksum - can you confirm it's up to date?

That aside it does look like a video driver or card issue, please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity).

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I can confirm that it is up to date with the 1.05 patch.

Specifically your checksum is GUHH ? When you did your reinstall you deleted the CK2 directories from under Steam AND from under MyDocuments?

OK, well again that's all fine. I still believe it is likely to be either a video card or driver problem though. Just to check: when you did your reinstall of the game, did you manually delete all CK2 stuff from under your Steam AND MyDocuments directories, before installing again? If not, try that.

If that doesn't help, let's try a different video driver. Uninstall the AMD video driver, reboot, and let Windows use the default MS one. Then install this beta of the next (12.6) driver http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst126beta.aspx , or if you are nervous about beta code you could try an older pre-12.4 driver instead, like 12.3 http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...px?os=Windows Vista - 64-Bit Edition&rev=12.3 or 12.2 http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...px?os=Windows Vista - 64-Bit Edition&rev=12.2 .

Success! Uninstalling the AMD driver completely fixed the problem. Thank you so much for your time and patience. I'm gonna troubleshoot the drivers to see which iteration causes the problems, because I found out it wasn't just CK2. Other games would have problems as well. If there were a way I could thank you by upping some kind of karma system that this forum uses I would do it if I knew.

Brilliant, so glad to hear that. If you find that the beta driver fixes it for instance, do let us know.
