That's normal and nothing to do with your problem.

Yeah I figured that out, was just going to edit that post.
So, its probably the drivers then or the fact that im playing on a guest account. But that shouldnt be the problem.

If you post your dxdiag.txt we can advise on video drivers perhaps.

Well I have to say that looks perfectly fine. If it only happens after playing for a while ten it might be an overheating issue. Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU) 1/ before starting the game up and 2/ after say 20 minutes' play. If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, Google for and install SPEEDFAN.

I can assure you that the temperature is not a problem.
This glich comes at a random time intervall, must be a trigger or something, I first thought it was because I resigned and loaded up the savefile again under the different checksum.

But it seems to happen at any time without me doing anything notable.

I can assure you that the temperature is not a problem.
Not to be rude, but on what basis do you assure me of this? Have you checked as I suggested?

If you have this in multiple games it has to be an issue with your system, either Windows itself, the display driver, or the hardware. The fact it goes OK for a while then goes wrong is very typical of temperature issues.

No problem, I can understand why you are saying that. But i only get this in paradox games (now that I think about it it I think this only happens in EU: Rome and CK2. In rome they told me I played too long and the character data messes up the game if i remember correctly). I have no issue running skyrim, deus ex just to name two.

The EU3 games push the video card harder than almost any other game. Not because of detailed graphics or high resolutions, but because it offloads as much work as possible onto the video processor, to free up the main CPU to deal with the vast amount of data the game uses to model history.

Whether CK2 and Rome have that characteristic too I'm not sure, but it will only take a few minutes to check.

Oh, forgot to mention: its not that I wont take your advide, its just that im on a guest account so I cant install anything. And the owner of the computer wont install it either.
I do apreciate the help your offering though!

On that note im not sure if its a triggered glich or not. Seems likely since its at a random time intervall rather than after ~20 minutes of play. But I havent done anything of note to trigger this. Not to my knowledge anyways

Some vendors (esp laptops) provide ways of reading temperatures without having to install speedfan. That aside, I'm out of ideas, sorry.

Thanks anyways! I will see what I can do about making the admin install new drivers

Edit: Im already using the latest drivers. So maby the game dont like me running it on a guest account

Bump: I am having this same exact problem, it seems to happen in my games after I have played for an hour or more, then i am forced to restart, to fix the graphics. I actually have had the same exact thing happen on EUIII, and on CK1 as well, even on different computers. On another note, every time I start this game on steam it comes up and says performing first time setup installing microsoft visual C++, even though I have played the game about a hundred times. And finally my last bug is that if I quit a game and go back to the menu and try to load a previous save, it just locks up and I have to ALT CONT DEL and restart the game again.

Here is my DXDiag.

What version and checksum show on the main game menu?

You could try updating your video driver http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/43997

If that doesn't help, you may have an overheating problem. Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU) 1/ before starting the game up and 2/ after say 20 minutes' play. If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, Google for and install SPEEDFAN.

Having the same issue, just started for me. Im running the latest patch and "The Prince and the Thane" version 1.0 Final".

Started just after installing the latest version of this mod (suspicious) however it also coincides with the hottest temperature of the year in our area, I will check CPU temps and post a dxdiag as well later.

Those temperatures look fine (I see online reports of temps in the 70s and 80s for that video), but were they taken when the problem was occurring? Or before the game started?

There is a slightly newer driver for your video http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/43997
