Graphics bug makes game unplayable

Hi, I'm encountering this bug as soon as I start a new city, regardless of map and modified options (resolution, fullscreen/window):

I'd appreciate any help to fix this problem.

My machine (laptop):
i7 740QM quad-core 1.73 Ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 2GB
4 GB RAM

Try disabling Steam overlay, it might help. That caused somewhat similar orange problems on Macs.

I tried that, but unfortunately, it did not fix the issue :/

I seem to be having a similar issue - although only appears to affect the menus:

Have verified the cache, reinstalled (and reverted the cache), and disabled the steam overlays, but doesn't appear to have worked...

Hello rosecom! Could you provide with a DxDiag and an output_log from a game session where this issue has occured? That would really help us look at this problem!

with an ATI Mobility Radeon 5650 i had the same problem and updating my video driver fixed it.
