Graphics not working

Problem for EU1 & 2 I start the game load (if I'm lucky my France game for EU1would not even do that). It goes and then pauses, the game screen does not move at all, I can selevt unit press to move and they move ever so slightly. But nothing changes the direction arrows don't change or appear, nothing moves. just stays still.

Do you have DirectX9.0b?
The latest driver for your Video card?
The latest driver for your Audio card?
Your operating system updates?
Have you renamed the AVI folder to AVI_back?
Have you set your color depth to 16BIT?
Have you turned off all the programs in the background like Antivirus, ICQ/Messanger/E-mail, utilities ... ?

Yes to all, when i play everything is off nothing runnin in the background at all, and yes the problem just started yesterday. it was working fine the day before.

Nothing that I can think of, I tried a game yesterday and it seemed to work, save for my France EU1 game it goes to reading scenario then CTD's. otherwise it's back to normal.

So everything is back to normal except your EU1 save game is bad.

Never use it.

Seriously turn autosave on and to the most frequent setting.

As for repairing a save, you would have to go through it line by line and see if you can spot anything wrong. If you are using a Mod you could check with the maker of the mod to see if there are any known problems. Look for events around that date and see if anything went wrong with them.

I save almost every year anyway and *usually* I dont' have a problem (other then screwing up and saving over another game

But why not have the autosave on so you always have that as a back up?
