well ... i know its very early but i will express a personal wish here ... i would like very much to see the models of every equipment , soldiers , ship , planes plus cities and generals - leaders with drawn pictures and not black and white photos ... especially models pics where in HOI3 the pics were inaccurate in most of the case ... IMO something like francesco's work should be excellent ... (hire this guy ASAP :p) ... what do you think guys?
 
As I said in the other thread... I much prefer the Black and White photos, more immersive... IMO

This is how I feel as well. The authentic general pics add a ton of immersion to the game. The more authentic anything (music, pics, plans etc...) in the game, the better as far as I am concerned.

For the love of God... No....

I prefer colour pics, but understand that we have to live with black-and-White for copyright reasons.
(I've replaced most of the pics in HOI3 with colour pics anyway.
It's not that hard...)

i meant that PI could shift to drawn pics than b&w not use francesco's work as it is ... as i said before its only ia personal belief - wish .... :)

How can those be less immersive than inaccurate black and white pictures?
 
I don't really favor one over the other, and I guess that depending on the overall art style of the game, Fancesco's-like drawings could look better than historical photos.
However, that seems to be a massive undertaking, given the number of potential units, ministers, leaders, etc.

And though that might not be a priority for everyone, mods would have a really hard time making new content fit in the game nicely. By keeping black and white photos from the time, if I feel like adding a new historical minister that Paradox forgot about I only have to search for his name on google, I don't need to become a professional graphic designer.

completely agree. its easy to mod/add simple things in with B&W images. its also more historical. if you want to change things you can do this with a Mod like Francescos images, but force nobody.

There are lots of black-and-white photos without copyright = free to use.
But colour photos are more rare and often copyrighted = not possible for Paradox to use

What Holy Death says. It's not about using colour pictures but about colouring black and white photographs. Whether it would be worth the trouble is another matter.

I wouldn't mind if Paradox used colour photos, so don't get me wrong on that.
I just don't see that Paradox would hire somebody to sit and colour tens of thousands of black-and-white photos.

What I don't want is drawings!
