No matter what permutation of settings I try, I always crash out on this date if playing as England in the Age of Mercantilism. What gives? Is it something personal about Charles I or to do with that wretched Petition of Right? Running in Windows 98 with 1.02 patch. Elsewise, sound, graphics and game speed are just fine.

first, try the running problems thread. There are some useful suggestions in there and it might just solve your problem.

Can you tell me if it crashes while doing something specific (like offering peace in a war, clicking ok on a event, etc.)?

If it still doesn't work, e-mail me your save game (the EUG file only) in a zipped format at *deleted* . I will see if I can reproduce the bug. It might take a couple of days before I get back to you though.

got your game and it's working fine :)

I don't know what's the problem, I played up to 1629 without a crash. I remember there were two last minute crash that were corrected in the *good* 1.02. Maybe it's one of them.

In the mean time, check the running problems thread and post me your config; it's still not impossible it could be caused by a hardware related issue.

Hey, I'm having the same problem. I'm playing as Austria and the game is locking up in Dec 1740. I have an HP with 633MHz and 192 megs of RAM. I'm going to try the patch after work, but it sounds like that won't fix the problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks for any help

send me your game in a zipped format to *deleted*
