about being dumped to the desktop four times in two hours last night. I resumed my Russian campaign in 1736 and did not get past 1741 in two hours of play! It started when Behring died while in the middle of a journey of discovery and when the journey ended I got kicked out to the desktop. After that, no matter what I did I got dumped. In my previous campaign game as England I also noticed that as the time got into the 18th century I got dumped more frequently - but not like this! Maybe too much going on? I don't know but I was pissed. So I loaded up the new game I got Fate of the Dragon with high hopes of a game reminescent of those old KOEI games. I was sorely disappointed. Looks like another AOE clone set in 2nd-3rd century China. I didn't have time to finish the tutorial but my hopes are fading. The graphics are great but you gotta chop wood, mine iron, build a farm, build a barracks - well that is all the further I got. Maybe there is some redeeming value later on in the game.

Come on 1.08!!!

Ram - get Ram. It's cheap

and the best thing to prevent crashes due to hard drive churning. EU uses a lot of memory as the game progresses and if the memory isn't available, it uses the win swap file on the hard drive. Then of course it has to read and write to that file over and over again... this is less reliable than RAM. Get Ram, it's $50 for 256mb. 128 mb is good enough though and seems the critical amount.
