grrrrrrr im Poland and everytime i really make gains on the Russians , the Fookin Winter comes.Anyway to actually Prevent me from losing so many men. General Winter always Bleeds my Sieges. Is there anyway to prepare for this?

You can try the really big army and storm the fortresses approach. I'm a big fan of killing my soliders in battle rather than losing them from disease and desertion. Make me feel like they died accomplishing something.

For just sieging. Go heavy on artillery- it will speed up your siege times and keep the min amount of infantry around. Feed in small amounts to keep you over a 10k army.

Also, always start seiges in early March. Give yourself as much non-winter time as possible to breakdown the fortress. You can also siege for a full campaigning season and then try a last ditch assault before winter to try and break the fort before winter sets in.

I figured with all the Details and options on this game, Maybe i could Ship coats to my men and so many woudnt die. Grrr........Common Sense vs Abstract combat , Nevertheless i like the game

Don't forget though that when you storm the castle and win the defence value drops by one (e.g. from medium to small). So unless this is a province that you plan on having behind the front lines after annexiation when peace comes I would advise against it and just feed it cheap troops.

If you wanna bleed the AI to death, just declare war in October(if you are in the nordic region) and withdraw from your border provinces(as long as they have fortifications worth the name)
That way the AI will keep sending its troops, siege your border provinces and bleed it's economy to death.
In spring time you just wreak havoc thru the country and grab 2-3 nice provinces!!
