Hello and welcome to my TED Talk! Since from now on we will see threads on how the game is definitely not dead, I thought about writing a guide to help you writing your own 'Imperator alive' thread!

1- Say that you will continue to play the game so it is still alive technically.
2- Explain why steam player numbers actually don't matter, and that the game is objectively the best in all of paradox portfolio.
3- Point to the fact that there are good vibes & suggestions in the forum.
4- Mention that you hope mods will continue to improve the game.
5- With your economics & programming degree tell paradox why they should invest in IR another 2 years of development to make it the best game ever.
6- Don't forget to say that you have a masters in marketing, and that IR only needs more marketing.
7- Say how much better it is from the initial release and that it was a magic journey.
8- Point out the very few yet mostly positive reviews in steam of heirs of alexander
9- NEVER forget to praise the devs in every thread in the hopes that they will continue developing I:R Ad honorem in their free time.
10- Realistically speaking you shouldn't make such a thread.

You didn't need an economics degree to see this coming. The amount of people playing the game is more important than good vibes in the forum folks.

Maybe if they had a chance to do some actual marketing for this game after it was fixed those numbers wouldn't be so atrocious.

For now Imperator is stuck in the unfair realm of 'oh that game? Didn't it suck on release? They fixed it? Eh it's not sexy enough to change my mind now'.

You guys won't be gloating when if your IP sequels end up in a debacle too. Hope your precious vicky never has mana added.

2.0 brought in more people than any previous patch release, yet they lost 80% of that in 2 months, and it looks like it will come back to the 500 level. Not a marketing problem. Maybe you enjoy the game, but it seems pretty clear that most people don't, even those that consistently come back to try it.

I am sure they learned their lessons with Imperator rome, if they put mana in vicky 3 then they are masochists, obviously they won't, considering they took out mana from IR almost immediately in 1.2 or 1.3.

Not going to lie, I already saw this one coming, sort of. Imperator hasn't really been able to come back from its rocky start even after 2 years and lots of effort. But this point here doesn't really make much sense:

I mean, sure when development stops you can usually say that a game has "died" by then, but if the community is still active then is it really? Take Vic2 for instance (I know a lot of people like comparing the 2 games), it still has a pretty active playerbase and there's plenty of online communities which still discuss the game regularly. Couple that with the fact that the game has several large mod projects which are still being worked on, like HPM, HFM, B&I, and crimeamod. I even know of a couple of newer mods that started development fairly recently and have yet to be released. Now I'm not sure if Imperator has a dedicated fanbase quite as large as Vic2, but there are definitely still plenty of community members who are playing the game and creating mods (Gladio et Sale and Bronze Age have both been updated to 2.0 and are likely to recieve further development). So if your criteria for a "dead game" is when development stops, then I guess you can say that CK2, Imperator, and Vic2 are all dead games. But the communities are all still quite alive, even if a little smaller than paradox's main lineup.

The point was to make people laugh... It is a pretty pathetic cliche to say such things as 'your life must be empty' to an internet stranger, you might as well say that you also 'f*** my mom'.
Seems you are lacking a sense of humour and take all of this too seriously. It is just a game and this is just a funny thread chill a bit.
