Imperator 3.0 - christianity DLC will feature the resurrection of the game and the second coming of Arheo as game director.

Were you though? I mean really?

After all, the point was never "Imperator is not going to be canceled". We all knew that Imperator was always one board meeting away from the end.

The problem with doom threads was never that they were wrong per se. (Of course a game that doesn't make much money is going to be at risk of being terminated. Pet yourself on the back for figuring that one out, clever boy.) No, the problem was that those threads were entirely pointless. Baring any PDS insider knowledge, there was no way to know when the day would come. For every argument why IR would be canceled I can give you an argument why development would continue just a bit longer. This has been true since IR was first released, and it continued to be true until a few hours ago.

The same arguments about why IR will be canceled had be rehashed over and over again, and until know there were always wrong. This time they were right. That doesn't make the threads endlessly rehashing the same arguments any less pointless.

It wasn't pointless, it is a way to unwind their frustrations with the game. Some post came with feedback, like the one i did, that are actually useful to the devs, i guess that the best feedback one can get is from people deciding to stop playing the game.
The arguments for continuing developing of IR are purely from the very reduce fanbase and not good arguments, that's why you were wrong. There was an argument maybe back when it released, but after 1.5 it was pretty clear at least for me. 2.0 could have save it, but they should have included a rework of the economy with it and keep it in the oven for a longer time.
