Don't like the vanilla hoi3, gonna wait for some mods for it..
Untill then I'm gonna play and support hoi2+doomsday+arma :)

No way am I spending hours just to progress one year
I don't think I've ever played a year of HoI2 in less than an hour (actual play, not just testing something). And that's the pre-war years.

Yes, HoI II is (still) great and all these beautiful mods will guarantee loads of fun to play it in the years to come. And after having fought WWII for the 99th time ahistorical ones like Kaiserreich or in parts MOD33 add new aspects and scenarios, just like a complete new game. Who cares about 3D anyway?

That's why: All modding dudes, keep up your efforts!

As I have said before, I don't give up on games that allow me to have fun, hell I am still playing Renegade Legion (Pen and Paper game) as well as Battletech.

HOI3 looks good, BUT it doesn't seem to be all that easy to make adjustments and change things...I like the new map, but I can live without 3D. So I will be with HOI2 ARM and DD for a long time.

I am staying with HoI2 too. Hopefully, in the years ahead, the modders will create mods which will make HoI3 historically plausible because now it is not about WWII.

hell I am still playing ... Battletech.

Haha. Me too. Atlas rules!

I meant that without micromanaging anything, just leaving it on max speed.

Which is pretty much my point; I'm probably never going to do that. That's only something I'd do if I was doing hands-off testing of a mod. If it takes me a couple of hours or more to run through a year of actual play in HoI2 it doesn't bother me if HoI3 takes the same time. I'll just do more things while the clock is running instead of pausing as much.
