So when I play as Duke of Österrich, I dont want to be called Babenberg. I want to change that. But I dont wanna screw this up to much historicly either.

My idea is this: In the court of Österrich, there are from the 1066 scenario cohorts that has the dynasty name von Habsburg.. (as well as of Österrich and of Babenberg).
Would it somehow be possible to mod so that one of my cohorts get the title duke of Österrich?

I c..
well please tell me were they were located if so :)
I just tought that since there are Habsburger in the court of Österrich.. that were from how they arose to become what they later became. (kickass dynasty).
So if anyone knows wich county they are in, pls pretty pls tell me :D

(btw.. would be GREAT of 1.02 could contain some more info about the county/duchy/kingdom u choose when selecting, like whom u are vassal to, name of the dynasty)

- Well, the easiest way would probably be to marry one of them to your daughter and make sure that she is you only heir.
- You can also conquer some more land for youself and grant the Duke and Count of Österreich titles to the von Habsburg.
- Or you can edit the savefile. You should change both the titles and the country rulers to desired charater. (If you screw up, you will probably get a CTD.)

Well, I have no information on what exactly were they doing in 1066, but I know that the family is originally from Elsass and that they had possessions there and in the modern day Switzerland and that the actual castle of Habsburg is in Aargau, Switzerland.

Thanks guys!

I know what to do, Österrich have two provinces from the beginning, I gave it to my grown up son.. instead.. i should give it to an habsburg and save.. reload as count of Movaria :D

Excellent!
(btw i searched every county from jan 1 1066.. seems no habsburg there) anyways.. gonna restart now =)

From Screenshots I believe the area where the Habsburg is located is called "Aarau" in CK. (It is historically quite correct that the Habsburgers are not in Austria in 1066 . They received that only when King Rudolf I granted Austria and the Steiermark to his sons in 1273. You can of course play a scenario from after that date...)
