While playing CKII my computer froze and the colors on the screen totally changed from what they normally are and my computer became unresponsive. I had to unplug my computer then plug it back in to get it going, but it would only start in safe mode, and had weird distorted colors on the screen.
I was able to get my computer going normally by uninstalling the game and using System Restore but it seems my computer won't function with CKII installed. I really like the game and would like to continue playing, but I don't want to mess up my computer.
Some background: CKII's video card requirement is GeForce 8800, I have a GeForce 8600 GTS. I was able to play the demo version fine, so I bought the Steam version on February 14 and had played the game for 55 hours before this happened.
Would the video card cause a problem this severe, and would it take 55 hours to happen? Or could it be something else? Any help would be appreciated.

It certainly sounds like a video/hardware problem. I'd check for updates to the video driver first, and also look into possible overheating issues. If your PC vendor doesn't give you a way on monitoring temperatures, Google for and install SPEEDFAN.
