Me and a friend have been trying to play HOI 2 over Hamachi for the past weekend. We are not having port forwarding issues, meaning that we are able to connect, Im hosting and he connects fine, and the game starts with both of us into the game.

The problem we have (maybe LAG I think now but its just too extreme) is that the moment I unpause the game and the clock starts moving for me, he doesnt see the pass of time until like 20 secs later... we are both in the same country and have decent connections. We are using an old hamachi version as the new one gave us tunneling problems.

When I repause the game, his clock keeps moving until it reaches my same time. This made it playable for some time but then he started to loose control over his production sliders being unable to move them. We are both using 1.2 so we might just need to get 1.3a? Any ideas? are this issues known?

Hamachi ver: 1.0.1.5
Hoi 2 DD ver: 1.2 (REBB)

Thx,

Sounds more like a network issue than a game version issue. Have you had problems with other games on this network? I'm not a MP guy myself, so that's the limit of the help I can offer. The best guy to ask would probably be Coreymas - maybe PM him if he doesn't stop by. He's done a lot of coding work with the game so he has a lot more experience to offer.

We´ve played Settlers 2 Aniversary and Civilization without problems... maybe hoi 2 needs some special config, no idea actually, its a shame cause we´ve played so many LAN games that went epic, and we would love to be able to do it from home.

I'm going to recommend going to the beta(don't be fooled by the name .. it really isn't beta) for 1 specific reason.... Ghost fleet issue.

This could be a factor in the lag you are experiencing. At what point in the game are you at?

But a bit of a warning... any old saved games will not take advantage of the fixes in the latest patch.

I am surprised that Hamachi is behaving badly with the newest version. I would recommend highly that you join the Multiplayer forum here it is still quite active and they may have some advice with Hamachi.
