As a Mac user I'm very happy that EUII has been ported
Being in the minority is not always easy, but bitching and whining ain't gonna help it. There isn't some big conspiracy against us. The main reason that there aren't more Mac games isn't that the companies are evil, but because the market is small. If we Mac users buy more games, there are gonna be more made, it's that simple.
I think these fora are a good place to also discuss Mac-specific issues because all the other things like strategies, tips etc are here. That is as long as everyone bothers to read the stickies and understands that Paradox didn't do the porting. They have absolutely no obligation, moral or other, nor do they have any special abilities, to deal with Mac-specific issues.
Those issues are the responsibility of the porting house; Virtual Programming, which have already issued a patch and another one is upcoming. True, their Q&A section is not particularly voluminous at this time. But I'd bet a Euro that they are much more encouraged by polite requests that angry bitching.
In the meantime I'm sure that most issues can be solved by other users. That's what a forum is all about
Here's a tip I pilfered from comp.sys.mac.games.strategic:
If the Pause button doesn't work, try F15 or Control-S.
/Gambrinus, ordered his Mac EUII to-day
