I think that to build institutions are not so severe.
Because of it, basic institutions (Forestry, Fishing Wharf, Watermills...etc.) are easily built (money and construction time are not so much necessary for building).

Byzantium, when I observed, built a good many of institutions in 30-40 years. In CK if ruler has sufficient money and required techniques, he can build many of institutions at early stage.

I think at early stage to be easily built a good many of institutions spoils interest of the game. Because if you play 1066 scenario, as far as construction is concerned, in the remaining 400 years there is no way but to wait new technical propagation. It seems to be better that development is more gradually.

In addition, I think it is necessary to lay down "minimum_income" for building Castles. In poor province to build a huge chastle is slightly strange.

Here are "Hardsetting" Province_improvements.txt :p

Excuse me, I don't know the word "stategic". :(
"Stategic perposes" is Poposes for state ?
In short, a huge castle is built as capital ?

If the province is in an important millitary position. For example building large castles in all the poor provinces along the border you share with your main rival.

Thank you. I see.
It is so, to lay down "minimum_income" for large castle might not be wise...

I'm always impulsive, and always disappointed. :(
But I'm glad if you appreciate this suggestion as raising a problem about constructions.

One of the issues is CK being unable to judge the true size of a dynasty ... if the cost of the better improvements was increased a large amount to make it a bit harder for the larger dynasties you then cripple the smaller dynasties or players who like to start with counts etc

One thing that has started to make its way in (in events at least) is the ability to set gold amounts as a % of income. This may work as a baseline for constuction also:

Item to be built = base amount + X% of last years income.

That way you dont totaly cripple smaller dynasties while simulating the waste and inificiency of large ones ... might be worth suggesting in the wish list for 1.04

Good idea.
At once I'll suggest my opinion in the wish list.

By the way, with "Hardsetting" for 60 years I checked that institutions, in its own way, could be built even in small dynasties. However, players who start as counts may feel stress until money accumulates.
