Holding and fighting for terrtories, earning money, relationship management, unseen violence, all good premise for a good small scale grand strategy game. Did anyone ever consider this?

There's a lot of ideas in the office about various new games. I heard someone say that Paradox should buy the studio Overkill, who have developed the Payday games, and I immediately thought that we should do a "Payday Universalis". Instead of countries you play as banks and bandits. The banks need to upgrade their safes, their security guards, safety alarms and so on, perhaps become allies with other banks, while the bandits need to upgrade their gear, their plans, weapons and so on. During the game the banks are attacked by bandits, some just steal everything and others try to take over the banks. Some banks could cooperate with bandits or pay them a sum to have them attack other banks than theirs. There's a lot of fun stuff you could do with this idea but I dunno if Paradox would want to develop it.

I've thought about this before, both with street gangs and pirates. Either way, there should be a big focus on characters.

Gangsters: Organized Crime is what you're looking for. It is old, buggy and unbalanced though--but still one of my favorite games and spent many hours just trying to figure out how to play it-. There was no one particular way to play the game, it was one of the first strategy sandboxes that I can remember. Always wanted to see a respectable remake; Gangsters II was over simplified to the point of being dull and Omerta was just garbage.

Having ideas is great and being creative is also great, but how about you stop having either of these and make Vicky3 instead. Pretty please. :'-(

i've seen a buch of references to G:OC on zoomin.tv games in their top 5 lists. that game does look cool despite it's old age. sad that it's owned by square enix otherwise someone might try to revive it.
