Crusader Kings 2: A Game of Thrones is an incredible experience. Besides simply transporting Crusader Kings 2 mechanics into a Westerosi setting, dozens of new features are added that drastically change, and improve, basic gameplay.

Has anybody considered putting all of the new AGOT features into CK2 base game? This means that as the Tulunid Sultan I could buy slaves, or if I was a notoriously evil ruler, my daughter would get a "dynastic stain" modifier when she plays as me. It could be amazing to put AGOT's improvements into "vanilla" Crusader Kings 2, and I wonder if anybody has begun to do that?

Some gameplay elements and additions that would work wonderfully with vanilla are:
  • The "fighter" modifiers, that concern characters' skill at combat rather than command
  • Personal combat event chains
  • Many more intrigue options, such as "imprison" or "incite to revolt"
  • Personal interactions, like "insult" or "visit bedchamber"
  • The ability to make characters squires or knights
  • The ability to spend money to train your children for various careers
  • Slavery and its mechanics
  • Reaving event chain for raider characters
  • New portrait elements, such as headscarves for women, fur clothing, and helmets for men
  • Modifiers like "dynastic stain", and quantifiable tyranny
  • Nomadic gameplay for certain cultures
  • Many more options for trial and execution

While some of these elements are found in other mods, many are not. Could it be possible to port these elements over to the CK2 base game?

*cough* *cough* and dragons *cough* *cough* lol.

On a serious note the tyranny and kingsguard (personal guard) mechanics would kick ass in vanilla

A lot of the traits, events, decisions etc that AGOT adds to CK2 should really be in vanilla/base CK2. They make so much sense, add so much depth to the game itself and make it overall more fun. You really feel like you're dealing with a dynasty and not just the county/duchy/kingdom you hold.

If I'm not mistaken some of these things were from the old "Old Objectives" mod that was incorporated into CK2+. I'd really like to see an updated vanilla friendly version of just "Old Objectives" crop up again as a small submod.

Please no. I love the mod, but many of the features are seemingly hidden (I don't remember the mod ever letting me know (in-game) that character locations are actually relevant) or just really awkward to use (slave trading).

Admittedly, I haven't played this mod in a while (I'm here to download the newer version), but I'd rather keep the base game streamlined.

Just no megawars plz. Though I like the system and understand the need for it, it is still very buggy at times.

Paradox uses what they want to, they don't need to ask.

Well any software company would. Modders really own nothing, they cannot copywrite what they make. They do it for love of the game not for profit. I am not saying they don't want credit, of course every person wants credit for their creation, but they have no legal ownership of anything they created using the game software

You'd think that, but people can and have sued in the past when a fanwork has been 'copied' by the creators of what the work is based on (a fanfiction in this case, but I imagine the base ideas might be similar). I'm not saying it would happen here, and since Paradox is based in Sweden the laws might be different, but...

Fanworks in general can be of interesting legal status.
