Hi.

I'm noticing a weird glitch from having a controller connected to my PC. When I load up Stellaris, whether or not the controller is still plugged in, the mouse control goes wrong. It seems to displace where I should be clicking on a button to a few centimetres to the right of the button.

A full reinstall solves the problem but only until I plug a controller in.

Any suggestions for an easier solution than a full reinstall (or never using a controller) every time I want to play?

XBox Elite Series 2 controller, Win 11, game fully up to date (all DLC), no mods. Played @1440p.

Yes, that is right. Often they will stop the game from loading at all!

The game was never intended to be used with a controller, so I'm afraid you'll need to unplug it each time you play.

Sorry about that!

And if the controller *is* unplugged but the same behaviour continues, as here? ;)

It's almost like the game isn't recognising a change of control method, even if the game isn't running when the change is made. It's really weird.

I've never seen a case where this happens if the game is started after the controller is unplugged.

Conceivably your controller driver is still active even though there is no hardware using it. Can you check for an update for it from that vendor?

Thanks for the suggestion. Just double checked and everything is up to date so far as Microsoft is telling me.

If you've never seen anything like it then I'm inclined to wonder about Win 11. Thank you, sir.

I missed you are on Win11 already - I agree that's a likely cause of this issue. If this still happens when that is formally released the devs will have to look into this again I think!

If anyone else runs into this and comes across this thread, the issue for me was actually with the Dx11 beta being enabled. This does not happen if you leave the game on the default Dx9.
