Exactly this.

Yeah. I just snagged the new 1.9 compatible version of ModTek. It's nice to have the likes of SkipIntro working again (sort of a must if you mod, all that testing...), as well as having progress bars rather than a black screen while it does its work. And, of course, it plays nice with the DLC.

But the HBS version working better is still nice for those that aren't as comfortable with computers.

I will also confirm the HBS mod loader IS working better...

ANd everyone, and I mean EVERYONE... needs to rewrite their mods. SOme all ready have. And for those that won't work with the built in modloader than it's the latest version of modtek in conjunction with the HBS mod loader I guess.. I'm about to find out... this will be.... interesting....

Modloader works better but Modtek is still the champion by a comfortable margin.
My configuration, for example, loads without errors with Modloader, but then generate infinite loops when I start a mission.
Exactly the same mods work without any problem with Modtek.

Hello,
I don't get any mod running in 1.9 . I tried the in game modloader. The gui shows my that all mods are loaded and ready. but if i go the mechbay or start an new game infinite loading screen. I also tried to install ModTek again, but also the same problem. If I use modtek the loading bar is not displaed if i start battle tech. I use the GOG Version of the game.

Sorry HBS but this sucks….

It's unrealistic to expect that all 1.8 mods will work flawlessly with 1.9 until their authors update them.

Does it work with modtek or is it only the modloader that is causing this problem?

I got the Hyades Rim to work in 1.9 with both HBS's and ModTek. But both are still giving me small and different issues, although none game crashing.

Yep, normally takes some time - depending on the free time of the modder (people have a real-life / work) - to update the mods to the new version.
It is more complicated if said modder disappears/ abandon the game.

I mod for myself. And Heavy Metal plus only adjust some Chassis and Mechs and Weapons. No DLL only jsons modding. some minuts ago i open the mechbay amf no custom mechs are displayed.

Thank you for this hint.

Could HBS not give money to the modder who program modtek as freelancers? Then they could put modtek in their game and every body will be happy .

They've already been working with the people that have been maintaining modtek.

Inside info? Whom are they working for example?
Were you not aware that Morph and others have been asked occasionally in regards to implementing the loader? I mean, that definitely what I have gathered at least from their discussing the HBS modloader.

Were you not aware that only person making commits to ModTek after 0.7.5 is me? So, only person can be counted as "maintaining modtek" currently is me. And i'm not confirming your suggestion.

Yes actually I was. But I wasn't talking about you because there are others that have been helping HBS on this from what I understand from before release of Modtek 7.5. Though I will admit, I was mistaken as it was MPStark that was maintaining it and not Morph. Perhaps I should have used 'modders' instead. But that's not really important, because what matters is from what I understand, HBS has asked some people from the community for ideas/suggestions/help (whatever) on implementing the loader.
