I'm messing with the minister files and have a few questions...

How does the formula for changing the Head of states/goverments actually works?

When moving the sliders and your goverment changes from, lets say, PA to FA, does your head of state changes automatically too, as do the ministers(i think)? So if lets say King A has a PA ideology and General B has a FA, does the King gets replaced by the General when the sliders move? And what happens when the ideology changes to ML, provided there are no other head of states available? Does the head of State with the closer ideology steps in?

And what applies for the heads of goverment?

The ministers change automatically along with the sliders, yes? In the above example if there are no FA ministers, what happens? The PA remain, or are they replaced with the minister with the closest ideology to FA,(f.e NS)?

There are no Ukrainian ministers for the 1914 scenario. Since a vassal Ukraine is not such a far off option, maybe the issue should be adressed.

Thanks in advance.

i don't understand what parameters i must set to mess with the initial rulling cabinet.

Alright. Dead Simple. To set up the ruling cabinet at start, you use the .inc file and add the lines headofstate = [id number] for head of state, headofgovernment for head of government etc - it's on the HoI2 wiki and still applies here. Otherwise the game will load in the cabinet from the first entry for each type. (thus if you wanted say Pavlos I as PA HoS and wanted rid of Georgios II permanently you would remove his entry, and Pavlos I would be the highest numbered HoS left and would become HoS by default (though you'd need to change his start date from 1947!))

With regards to your question on Ideologies - the game has no respect for monarchies. If the leader of the Junta is closer to the current ideology of the country then he will appear. The trick here is to use events to ensure the right person is set - OR make clones of the king /whoever - such as in the Swedish minister file.

Got it. Thanks.

However on the Junta/ King example, simply having one Head of state(the King) available , even if he is PA and the country has turned towards NS won't it do the trick?
As for the start dates i thought they worked like the leaders. So a minister with an end date of 1936 is not available in a 1936 start?

EDIT: tested it-dates do work different with the ministers.

Re: Junta - a minister is good 1 step either side of his ideology unless he is Mil (Chief of...), then it's 2 steps either side. So a PA HoS would only stay in power if there isn't a NS HoS available. If an NS HoS becomes available, he'll be replaced.

Well yes, but replaced by whom? Provided the PA Hos is the only one available in the files.

Ok thanks a lot dude. And a final question. Is it possible to dissalow the moving of the ideology and democratic sliders? As i am currently creating a National Socialist puppet Greek goverment, i'd hate it if the player was able to simply turn his goverment to NS and having those ministers. Btw what do you mean the PA HoS will sway the country that way? The goverment ideology is affected by its HoS, not the other way around?
