We're so glad to be here on the PDX Forums in the new BATTLETECH forum and want to say hello and share a little bit about ourselves. Even though we're heads down finishing up the game, HBS_Devs like to pop in to see what folks are saying and may even respond if they can find the time.

I'm HBS_Dagger, the Community Manager at Harebrained Schemes. I've been with HBS for about 5 years and love supporting our passionate community members!

All I want to say is thank you for your efforts. I am waiting for something like this since MechCommander 2. Looking forward to run my Mercenary Business. :)

Not going to lie... I'm bummed were losing the old forum, with it's insane amount of info and conversation. That said, I like the new digs, and am a huge fan of Paradox products, and the folks there as a company. It's a great team up, and one that pushes BT forward.

So... Excited to be bummed?

Here's looking forward to April!!!!

Hey all!

I'm A.J., the Sim Game Lead Engineer for BattleTech, as well as a former cast member on the Twitch show "Death From Above" (RIP Beta). I'm looking forward to talking to y'all and reacquainting myself with the community! I've been with HBS since the beginning and am super proud of the community we have here supporting us!

(Also Catapults > Everything, not biased or nuthin')

Howdy, I'm Connor, a designer on Battletech. Mainly responsible for the campaign side missions (aka procedural missions) and arena multiplayer maps.

Been at HBS for just over 3 years this month, actually. (ask me about weird stuff I put into Shadowrun: Hong Kong sometime)

You may have also seen me sometimes on Death From Above, the Batltetech show on Hyper RPG.

Hopefully the fun and engaging discussions from our previous home can carry on here.

Hey howdy!

I'm Mitch and I've had the honor to work on games in the BattleTech universe for a long time. I produced and designed the MechCommander series and worked on the MechAssault games too. A couple of years ago, I started playing a weekly tabletop BT RPG in a show called Death From Above on a Twitch channel called Hyper RPG. In my copious free time, I act as Studio Manager for Harebrained Schemes. I enjoy talking to BattleTech fans but I enjoy meeting them in person far more.

Thanks for joining us on the forums! FYI, we don't engage in most debates or conversations. In my experience, game devs get a wider perspective if they allow folks to air out all sides of an issue. We do answer direct questions when we can but we're busting ass on the game and our time is not our own.

BTW, we do monthly livestreamed Q&As the second Wednesday of every month. Look for reminders and info the week before.

One last thing - the Internet is a cesspool. We all know it and we've likely been a part of it in one way or another. Since launching our original forum 2 years ago, our tireless mods have been working hard to create and maintain an oasis from all of that - a warm and inclusive and empathetic place that allows folks to focus on the positives of fandom without the negativity and bile you find elsewhere. Hope you appreciate the effort and join us in propagating it!

Hi Lovely BT Community! Klimecky here (There are 4 Chris's at HBS, so last names work better), Lead Producer on the game. Been with HBS since the SR: Hong Kong Kickstarter and have had a hand in every HBS launch of the last 3 1/2 years.

It really is a pleasure to make this game for such a passionate and engaged community - thank you for being a part of it. These are exciting times and we look forward to having you play the game soon!

Cheers and see you around the cool new digs here at PDX Forums,
Klimecky

I agree with your "one last thing", Mitch, and made my feeling clear before the old site shut down.

BUT, you missed hater of Quads and crusher of dreams off your CV ;)

Hail, MechWarriors!

I'm Ryan, and I've worked mainly on the combat design and campaign UX/UI. I've also been responsible for other stuff like MechWarrior abilities and skill trees, and the stats for all the 'Mechs and equipment in the game (and the c-bill value formulas that go with them). I've also made all the stock preset Lances for skirmish play that you will be experimenting with against the AI or each other. I even made a map or two that got shepherded through to release for contract missions! I guess I'm kinda all over the place ;)

I once played a straight-laced Taurian commander on the series finale of Death From Above... and got destroyed. I also was part of planetary tournaments during MechCommander Gold over *dial-up* back in the day and have an encyclopedic knowledge of in-universe lore - BattleTech has a special place in my heart.

I'm looking forward to seeing these forums grow and to hear about everyone's experiences with our game!

Hey, I'm Brian. I'm the Director of Operations here at HBS. That mostly means that I make sure the rent is paid and the lights stay on, that everyone has health insurance, and that the team doesn't spend the entire project's budget before the game is done.

I've been with HBS since the first Shadowrun title and have contributed in a variety of roles: producer, community management & customer service, systems designer, manufacturing & logistics, and my current role in finance, HR and operations.

I also get my hands dirty in making games too! I'm a contributing writer to BATTLETECH focused on the Events system -- so not all my time is buried in spreadsheets.

Hi! I'm Andrew, one of the QA Testers in the studios, and also the one who is called to fix and upgrade the work machines around the office. Effectively I figure out ways that the game is broken, while also trying to figure out how to fix the computers here and keep them running smoothly. I'm one of the newer additions to the team, but I can certainly remember the days of reading BattleTech novels and playing Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries.

I've been at video game QA for about 4 years now, and I've found my last few months here to be an incredible experience with a very talented, dedicated team at Harebrained Schemes. Really happy that HBS is partnered up with Paradox for this, I'm a big fan of Stellaris as well.

So excited that you'll all get to play BATTLETECH soon!

Welcome to the PDX Forums !!! I've been following you in the old forums and now I'm thrilled that my favourite game universe (BattleTech) has found its home with my favourite videogame company (Paradox).
And I can't wait to try my hands with the ugly life of a 31st century BattleMech mercenary company.
Cheers :) !
