Hi guys, I have a question.... reading some of the threats here, I keep seeing mention of the memory core. I read about it on the Sarna website and it is very interesting. If I read correctly, the discovery occurred not long after the evens in the main campaign.

I am not a modder, but is anyone ever consider modding this event?

well..it is pretty well documented in the grey death legion series so i am not sure how our player characters would fit in....but ya it could make for a kool FP where as a reward we get as copy of the 'core' for yang to mess with....

Well, it was discovered and distributed in 2028 but it still took time to be exploited at large by the galaxy, which makes a lot of sense and of course, the periphery was among the last places to get their hands on it.

About the event itself, I guess that you can make some Flashpoints where maybe you help to distribute the knowledge or something, but if you want to introduce SLDF mechs, the more plausible lore-wise way of doing it is via the old "discovery of forgotten SLDF", because the tech on the Helm Core didn't become widespread until 3040-50.

a plausible FP could be us running into the GDL when they were starting out....maybe them rescuing us or vice versa and them asking us to help distribute it to whichever nation....or they could hire us to do so....but anyways...troubles would ensue due to disguised comstar units trying to stop the flow of info.

Yes, albeit it could be kind of predictable but, oh well, some tropes are unavoidable. Maybe the FedSuns don't want it to reach the Taurians while the DC want it to deliver it to cause problems to them.

But sure, I bet you could tell a pretty good story and give a fun game experience around the event.
