The title cuts to the point, sort of. I have over 3000 hours logged, and still can't get myself to properly learn how to play aggressive/wide as well as i do playing tall. Especially when playing hordes.

Now, i'm not completely inept - i have no issues winning in wars or fighting much larger enemies with hordes. Specifically, i struggle generating Admin tech as Mongolia. It's 1500 and my techs are 4-7-8. Yes, i am razing provinces actively. I had a few stab hit events (the random ones), and the -3 stab from the independence war was kind of a nail in the coffin for my admin tech..

So, if there's a kind soul to load up my save and tell me whether or not this run is salvageable in achieving The Great Khan. Short recap:
- Year is 1500
- 502 development
- 30k troops (12inf+14cav+4arty) i know i know, too much infantry.
-
Full manpower (60k)
- 4 loans (less than 300 each)
- 4ADM/ 6DIP/ 8MIL (max)
- I own all of Manchuria and Mongolia, all the way west to the Uzbek border. Didn't attack Chagatai yet. Tsang is a vassal, and they own 80% of Tibet.

Ming passed it's first reform and has around 30-40 Mandate right now. They have nearly 100k troops (no mercs) and 20k manpower. I think i can beat them in war, but i'm still thinking whether or not to strike right now, or maybe expand into Central Asia a little bit more.. As they are MIL tech 8 too. I allied Ashikaga, but they're not strong enough to help yet. I feel like i'm at the point where i feel i'm done if i don't turn some things around quickly.

It's funny that i was much faster in conquering Ming with Korea (done in early 1600s) than Mongolia.. I had a very nice run the last time i played Mongolia, but i took too much liberty around Central Asia, so by 1700 i still had entire Russia, Urals, and Persia regions remaining. This time around i conquered more territory at the 1500 mark, but my economy and tech is weaker. I took someone's advice and focused MIL at the start, so this definitely contributed. But as i'm saying, i tried being more aggressive this time, and just can't get out of that ADM limbo.. Still got no economy to pay up for adviser regularly. I took up a few loans to build up some more troops, but now i have second thoughts about going at Ming at this very moment.

You are hitting the Deadline to beat the Ming up you honestly should've look for an opportunity around 1470, you beat declare war on Oirat when Ming is ready to fight or ask Ming for support independence, take as much money as you can unite the Steppes like you have now.

Then try and take mil 5 or 6 when Ming is on one level behind. Build a spy network the whole time so you can siege faster than them. And take the forts, their capital fort is in a plain or steppe so you bait them into that. Clean up the armies and beat them.

You can possibly beat them now like i said you have more reserves than them but i cant remember if the Tech Group Units are equal at this level of tech. You can check that on the wiki. Since Hordes or Mongolia is in a different tech group they get better troop statistics than the China Tech Group.

If you manage to beat Ming in the first war I would just take the forts on the border, and ask for all their money and war reps. That should help to ensuring the Mingplosion happens, and if you are willing to fight again, I would declare war on a tributary, Tsang or Korea if they are Tributaries would make that war a little harder, but again just ask for all their cash and war reps and wait for them to Implode and declare on the smaller countries.

I'm Actually like you as were I haven't or didn't achieve Great Khan Yet. I played Oirat and Mongolia when the Update came out and did all their achievements besides that one. I was hoping to come back and do it as the Great Horde one day, but that Mongolia Mission tree is pretty good and makes it easy. The tech really doesnt matter, besides the fact you haven't started your first idea group which should be Humanist or Admin. BUT I mean look at that admin tech prob a bad idea.

I tried giving my advice for the best not so agrro start, but yea you can deff take the achievement in this run. It'll prob be around 1780 if you take the same speed as this start shows me.

Yeah, it was my guess too. That's actually exactly what i did last run, which was great, but i took too much time hanging out in 16th century. I left Central/West Asia for too long, for no particular reason. So i wanted to try to get more territory by 1500 this time, but it was counterproductive in a way. I'm not comfortable playing 4 ADM behind, as this never happens with me, not when playing primitives, or Western Africa, or whatever. So, i'll try again and maybe post here if there's some improvement :) Thanks for the heads up anyway.

I also have all the achievements in East Asia except for this one, so it has to go soon :D
