HELP Dec 1941 freeze again!!!!!

I have patched HOI to the latest 1.05c and I am still find my game is locking up in Dec 41, I thought it was designed to resolve this issue?. This is becoming a real pain in the arse!!! I was all set to buy Victoria but this doesn't fill me with confidence or are paradox just going to churn out substandard games?

I'm new to the game, but I've had the Dec '41 freeze too. That was on 1.05. I loaded 1.05c and I was able to play my previously saved game that had frozen! I'm not sure what the problem would be.

Even though I was able to play a previously frozen saved, I've heard many say that is not possible. Are you trying to load a frozen game?

Pretty sure 1.05C fixes that problem.
Are you sure you installed it correctly?

It is possible that I have made a mistake installing 1.05c, although I followed the instructions on the Road to War forum. I have the logo 1.05c showing in the top right corner of the screen, so I assume thet it is installed correctly.

I have tried a new game and it still locked up. I have just un-installed HOI and defragged my hard drive and will try re-installing the game. any help installing the 1.05c patch would be appreciated.

Are you sure that it patched correctly. i.e what folder did you unzip it to?

What version can be seen in the start screen in the top right corner?

Also did you start a new game?

Do not use the copy from other web sites, now that I think about it someone else had a problem with the copy from there.
In general it is always best to get a copy from the official site. Less chance of virus and the like that way as well.

To verify that you installed it correctly check the version displayed by the game as 2Coats mentioned. That will verify that the .exe file is in the right place. Also check the datestamp on db\events\sleepleaders.txt. If it is June 15 then it is still the v1.05 file. If it is July 11 then it should be the updated version with the fix for this bug from the 1.05b and 1.05c patches.
