I dont get this game at all... ive watched the youtube tutorials... tried taking the game one step at a time... and i just cant ever figure out what the hell im doing. I dont even see where to know how much resources i have to know if i need to trade for some or not. I need help! im very confused.

. I dont even see where to know how much resources i have to know if i need to trade for some or not.

In the production tab.. you have the option to look at each resource individually. You will also see 3 different bars.. showing Production.. which is how much you create. Demand/use which is how much your country wants and uses. and finally stock which is how much extra you have on hand.

Ok... theres that. I still dont understand uh... anything else in the game...

How does combat work? one of the features listed for the game is Tactical and Strategic control of your forces? What "Tactics" are there?
How do i control my army? They seem to move around the map at there will even though I havent told them to do anything.
Can someone explain technology to me? there is no tech tree and i find it hard to come up with any sort of technology strategy like i do in most strategy games.

How do i influnce a nation into my sphere?
What does the high ground map do? The defensible terrain map mode?

Theres alot to take in... HOI3 FTM isnt even half as complex as this game....

I also seem to find these games difficult to understand what the aim is. Yes, I understand the very, very basics, but that's about it. I've printed the manuals off, I've read them, etc. PON and V2 I'm also having the same issue. There seems to be no 'goal', I think you make own up? I think there needs to be a guide for 'dummies', just so we can get going. I've even statrted to read 'history books', now that's a first! I brought two books on Saturday, much to the disbelief of the wife. So I am trying to get to grips of these games, cause I think they will be very good once you understand them, and I know it's a steep learning curve, but I WILL get there.

I was even in the British Army, stationed in Germany during the 'cold war', you think that would help lol!

Anyway onwards and upwards.

Regards

1- At games start your ministers will pretty much do everything for you.. this includes movement/deployment of your military. To turn this off and take manual control you go to your defense tab- minister- you will see initiative settings for each catagory. Land/sea/air. Turn these to NONE if you want to control them manually.

2.The tech system is extremely long and complex although you can see what techs lead to where by double clicking them and viewing the pop up. It will have a catagory that states : leads to techs: or something like that(exact wording escapes me)

3. diplomacy works well for this.. even outright bribes if you can afford it.

4. they show you high ground and defensive hexes... which apply different effects when combat happens there. (honestly don't remember the exact effects because i've pretty much ignored these through out the series lol)
