Can not wait any longer, I am getting a German copy, what resources are there to help us non-Germans play the game.I do speak a little, I am sure I can figure out the screens, more worried about actual game mechanics, i.e. the manual.

I agree... completely... :)
Start with a rather easy country like Austria, which doesn't have to worry about the new world normally and try to play the game for a few hours of game time, then I guess you would be best of restarting the GC because you've learned a lot more and then after a few tries you've got mostly all of the mechanics figured out...
And if not just ask here on the FAQ board. But a good advise is to try to search for an answer first, then you hopefully get an immediate answer and second there wont be too many duplicates of posts :)

A few words to get you going, most buttons have names that are so similar to english you will understand them. Examples are done from memory of german words....

Aksiepteren = Accept/OK
Zuzammenfassen = Join (units)
Statssehe = Royal Marriage (this one took me some time :)

A simple and small german-english dictionary would possibly help too....In my experience I've almost always understood the effect of something even though I might not always understand the all the 'flavor text' which is too bad, but makes me fully capable of enjoying the game :)

I just wish my grandparents were still alive, it sure would make this alot easier.I guess I'll just have to find some German guy here in LA, who is willing to help.

I translated the in-game messages to english using a small knowledge of German, a good dictionary and MS Words 'replace all'. This + the forum messages made the manual unnecessary.

Yes Paradox, I will not spread it and I will buy the swedish version. My lucky brother will probably find a german version EU in his christmas stocking (serves him right for taking french in highschool!) :)
