Help ! I cannot seem to view existing military units !?

I loaded up a saved game this morning and started to play but I cannot view any of my existing military. I can see a tiller wheel for one of my fleets but it refuses to respond to my clicks. Every other view I seem to select doesn't ever let me see military units on the 'board'. I even ordered new units into production but I cannot even see the little animation (man working at anvil) that symbolizes thier production underway !? Thanks in advance for any help...

*sigh* ... seems to have been bad saved file

I loaded an earlier saved file and things are back to looking normal.
Is this a known bug ? Is there something I could have done to better insure a 'good' saved game file ?

never ran across anything like this
only thing i could think of though is that you were in another view (i.e. political), which does not show units
in the top of the map in the bottom left, make sure you're on normal view to see units and stuff

Very likely that u were watching the political map ...
