Other:

I read the stickies but I still have the following problem:
I bought EU2 a month ago and have failed in every attept to play once I have a patch installed. The V1.00 plays fine with only occasional crashes. But once I have a patch installed (I have tried v1.06 and 1.07, from the North American Strategy first download links provided on this site) the game refuses to let me play it. I can get to the opening screen, and it says that I have v1.07 in the upper left corner, but when I start a scenario my computer freezes and crashes. I have tried with the music off, I have uninstalled everything and followed your suggestions every time, but I still cant get the patches to work. If you need any more information from me I will see what I can find, but I am not a real computer whiz. i love the game and am anxious to get to play it with all the bugs worked out.

First two things to try:
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
2) Set your color Depth to 16BIT

That did the trick. Thank you so much for the help! I predict some sleepless nights for me in the near future...;)

Happy playing! Drink lots of Caffeine!
