You were right to be cautious. The following is a post from Patric:-

Other versions of the game
Polish version published by Coda ships with interim build of 1.08.
Benelux (English) version published by Blackstar Interactive ships with version 1.07.

So, it appears that you need the Benelux version if it is already version 1.07 or the German patch if not. As your version is in English then I would go for the Benelux Patch.
