Help Player country changes in saved games!

Recently selved my HOI and EU I when my spouse brought me EUII home.

The game came as V 1.07.

I had to open a savegame sub folder in the scenario folder but then everything worked fine... EXCEPT when restarting games the player country sometimes changed. I worked around this for awhile by making multiple saves.

This morning when I started to play ALL my save files are coming up as the United States. Can I stop this or can I (and where do I?) edit the player country back to the original in the save files.

I know I had good save files for France, Austria and Prussia last night. Most of these were from teh Napolean's Ambition scenario but there was a grand campaign game also.

When you want to continue with a saved game you can choose the country you want to be. For exampel you have a savegame of when you played with France. When you want to load that savegame you can choose which country you want to play, so you can continue with that france savegame as another country. But if you want to continue as France just choose France as the players country.

Not if a country you want to play is a major power and is already up there, with their shield greyed out.

If you want to play a country that you can't select in the country selection screen, then one way around this is to do the following: start a Grand Campaign with a country you want to play (or some other scenario - any scenario will do). Then, from within the game you started, load the game you wanted to continue - this will load your game with you being in control of the country you started Grand Campaign with.

Thanks again for your help. I can see from your post about Crowns of the North that there may be problems with Strategy First versions of your product. Please help.

I will check with them but I ask you for selfish reasons. if you give (as I expect ) better customer service than them, I will sing your glory.

I will now also start searching Strategy First sites for a fix but I never judge your produect or recommened it to others on the merits of your distributers. I appreciate and comment to others on the support you provide. If they create problems that you cannot or will not support please let us...yes us... know. Or let them know we are concerned.

Love your easy access. We come to you because you are the source and you have the forums. I read you before I played you.

Never heard of this one before.

Are you trying to load the saves from within the game?
If you do that it will load the save as the nation you are currently playing.

If you want to load a game where you were playing a different nation, you must exit the current game and go back to the main menu.

I am have the same problem.

I was playing the Fantasia campaign as the Mamlukes, and when I saved the game (I had to make a save games folder because one was not installed with the game) and I exit the game. When I come back the only contry I can play as is Erie (when I try to load the game). It is quite annoying really.
 
Start a new game as the "Mamlukes", then load in your save game.
