Hello, just posting since i can't seem to find the answer anywhere, when I'm in an alliance and a member decides to declare war (or get war declared on them) i don't get the choice to join or not join the war, instead it's decided by a "chancellor". Is there a setting to make me the one who decides to join the war - like it was in EU2 or is that just how the game works?
My settings on the game are normal on everything and I'm playing Europa universalis III: Complete

I don't quite understand your question. Are you playing an unciv? Playing a civilized country, if an alliance member calls you into a war, you get a notification, and can either accept or refuse the request. Control of the war from there on depends on who started the war and the relative strengths of your own country versus the initiator; you've got to be significantly stronger to take control. If you're joined a side during a crisis, then your side's leader makes all of the decisions. If you're turning over control of portions of your game to the AI (not sure how, unless you're running a mod), then it might be auto-accepting things you don't want to happen.
