I am pretty sure I am the only one from my city but the real takeaway from this survey should be: "Guys we are announcing Victoria III asap."

Dunno why people are confused by Sims in the list, when all of them have CK2 in their profile.
The part about time periods was more confusing to me, like why there are Middle Ages and WW2? I've heard PD already had these periods covered.

Anyway, I voted for Victorian Era, for no reason in particular.
Future. I assumed it's somewhat distant future, not future Future aka Stellaris. I believe it would work well, it could simultenously feel modern and introduce elements which would be impossible in Cold War - Today era, such as majority of countries not being locked in status quo and wars being available to everyone, not just African warlords and Superpowers.
Stone Age game sounds quite exotic, coming from PD, so wouldn't mind it either.
I'd really like a stone age/cavemen game by Paradox.
With late-game tech finally unlocking Gavelkind?

Completed :)
Hope you guys share the results, would be interesting to see.

Q: Which podcasts do you listen to (and you MUST answer)

A: WHAT the hell are those

I just checked it in wikipedia and still don't know what is it? Is Youtube video (or cyclic YT program) or twitch stream a podcast? What about radio program?
If they are not what's the difference?

More like a city builder :D

With regards to the period question, I'd love to see something set in the modern age as a strategy game.

I think I've said it before, but a game centred around building a corporation from the early 20th century to the modern day would be amazing if taken seriously. I like tycoon type games, but they are always simplistic and cartooney. What we need is x is to tycoon as europa universallis 4 is to civilization 6.

I've taken a few of PS's surveys now and I'm always disappointed they don't ask which themes customers would like to see explored.

None of the 5 Paradox games I play made the list, other than Stellaris, which is probably my LEAST played of the bunch. Crusader Kings I, not in the poll. EU3, again not listed. Victoria 2, curiously missing, especially since it's the current game in its series. Hearts of Iron III, once again not listed. Stellaris, well, I don't really play it much since the initial novelty wore off, but it's on the poll.

As in several of the other recent polls, I find a few of the questions disturbing, possibly indicating that Paradox is trying to justify a move in a direction that I REALLY don't like.

I guess it is just in there to sort out people who put nonsense into the forms, and thus end up claiming to have played a non-existing game.

I hope this is not the case as many, myself included, could think it was an honest mistake in the survey. I googled "Kings of Ages II" to make sure I have not missed some awesome strategy game and when only results for Age of Empires II: Age of Kings popped up I was sure they just made a mistake. The questions used to filter out useless responses should be much much more clearer.

Also the question about the last strategy game I bought kind of assumed it was a newish game. I just bought Age of Mythology on Steam a few days ago so I made the logical leap and answered about my usual process.

I would love something like that!

Well, you surely noticed the “(or predecessors)“-part in the question. ;)

I was once a huge fan of the Sengoku Jidai Era thank to games as "Sword of the Samurai" and "Nobunagas Ambition II" and also the mix of strategy. tactic and roleplay elements they had.
I wished EU would be more like that and that a new Sengoku game would also be released.

Some clarity on the question about how many hours you've played a game ("or predecessors") was needed. Did it mean the entire series? I have my doubt because both civilization VI and V were present.

I urged that Paradox spend more of their effort on marketing and less on developing sophisticated, historically immersive games.
Some men want to watch the world burn.

I also got tripped up on the time played on certain games. I have never played Total Warhammer and I barely played Rome. I played the hell out of Shogun 2 and Empire though.
