I'm trying to build a dual helipad asset. I've successfully exported, edited (in Blender), and re-imported the helicopter stop building, but when it comes to adding spawn points, I'm completely lost. I read on BloodyPenguin's Spawn Points Fix page that that mod isn't really required, if you use the Advanced Building Editor to properly create spawn points. Unfortunately the documentation on how to do this is a little lacking. I tried moving the original "Spawn Point Position" and "Spawn Point Target" onto the original helipad I made, and creating two more on the second one, but that doesn't seem to take affect in the game: the line tool (even with Shift pressed) only lets me add a stop where the original spawn point was placed (in the stock helicopter stop asset). I even tried unpacking one of the workshop's assets to see if I could reverse engineer how they're set up, but they don't have spawn points or targets at all.

Other things I've tried:

  • ABE's "Auto-place spawn points", but it doesn't seem to do anything, and I wouldn't even know how it could possibly know where to put them?

  • Adding the "helicopter pad" prop and then trying "Auto-place spawn points", and with the manually placed ones as well.
Any thoughts? I wonder if it's just that ABE isn't built to know about helicopters, and that's why it isn't working?

I've also tried to find what might be defining this in mod tools, and I suspect I've found it inside the m_paths.[6] (helicopter stop) property. Trouble is, it doesn't appear to be editable?
