HELP with MP

Hi all great HoI fans

I want to learn how to play MP-games, but my computer will NOT.

When I try to join a game it says: "No game host found at IP-Adress .... Please Check the adress and internet connection and try again."

I have tried to turn off my firewall but I still cant join a game.

I useing ADSL and have XP.

Can anyone help me so I can play MP? Please

Questions and a couple of answers

Hmmm...a couple of things off the top of my head:

1. You mentioned trying to connect via direct IP (internet) connection. Are you able to connect to Valkyrienet, and if so can you join games there?

2. If you host, can others connect to you?

3. Are you using a router?

3. You mentioned that you are running Windows XP. You might want to check to make sure that the built in Windows firewall is turned off. A lot of people forget about this one.

4. You are trying to connect to an IP that has a game already hosted, correct?

5. You shouldnt have to turn your regular firewall off, you should simply be able to configure it to allow HoI to run. What firewall do you use?

6. Finally, there is an excellent thread about connection issues stickied in the Multi-player Forum. You may have more success in getting help there.

It is valkyrianet where I cant join games.

What is a router?

I have tryied to turn of my firewall but I still cant join the games.

Could someone please post a detailed descibtion to open the ports with the router "SonicWall". Please.
