Can someone please help me with my multi player game? I try to get onto it but it says there isn't anybody else around to join and play. Do other people around me have to be playing or do I have to join at a certain date. Please help me.

Well unlike FPS's and Starcraft not alot of people wait around for random schmoes to come aorund to play, thankfull you've come to the right place.

Due to the size of a standard EU2 campaign and the commitments required it is often best as we have through much time and effort to figure out that the most effective way to get a fun game of EU2 going with all majors filled, is to organize a time in which for as many people as possible to band together and play.

A step by step process:

1) Make sure that your Router is configured to allow EU2 to work in multiplayer.

1a: Go to the Newb help stick at the top f the EU@-Multiplayer action forum to figure out which ports need to be opened.

2) Get and install ICQ, the vast majority of players use ICQ, except Slargos who has moved on to Qip.

3) Find a ongoing game a game just starting soon

and post expressing your interest.

4) Make sure to read through the newbie help manuall to understand etiquet, manners, currently frowned upon exploits, and other boring stuff.

Be sure to get an ICQ number and post it under your profile and/or location and/or signature as soon as possible so GMs can add you.

In the very begginging it says to pick HOST or VALKYRIENET or INTERNET... whatever which one do I pick? Also, when I pick EITHER one it doesn't even show ONE game, NOT ONE. How do I get ICQ? This is soo confusing to me. Even if I live in Northern Kentucky, will it matter if they're no games going on around me. Like can I play a game hosted by a member in say California or Sweden?

google.ca for icq.

ok valkerynet is the server hosted by Pdox, its a matchmaking server were people from anywhere can go into a lobby for any of the pdox games and see anone else whose there.

INTERNET is actually Connect Via Direct IP, basically you can hosta game or join a game being hosted if you know the ip of the host.

LAN: if someone hosts a game on your home network you can join them.

If you host a game via lan someone on your network can join you.

This is why Hamachi is used in some games.

Also, when I pick EITHER one it doesn't even show ONE game, NOT ONE.

Of course there is not even one. There is currently too few people playing eu2. Most times you join in you will find 0 games. This is not age of empires or warcraft where you got millions playing. I think, there are less then 100 people playing eu2 in MP mode.

As it was said before, people sign in a game here at the forums, and then meet at vnet at the determined hour/day.
