Whenever I attempt to play the game on the launcher it gives me a small triangle saying that Launching the Game has failed.
What do I do
I downloaded it the other day and I haven’t gotten to play it

The error "launching the game failed" can have many sources. To narrow it down somewhat, try to start the game from eu4.exe (eu4.app on macOS) . If that works it is a launcher problem. If it doesn't work it is a game problem. In that case, please tell me how far in the startup process you get(what is the last thing that eu4 displays) and if you get any error message.

If you get an error message about a missing VCRUNTIME or other dll file, please try to (re-)install the microsoft visual c++ redistributables. You can get the latest version from this website or directly download the installer from this link. There is an arm version(ARM64), a 32bit version(x86) and a 64bit version(x64). Current eu4 versions only need the 64bit(x64) version.

Does this help?

I’m very sorry I know nothing about computers what is the c++ redistribules
I don't know how to explain it well. It is a collection of runtime libraries which contain computer functions which are needed by a lot of software which was developed with Microsoft Visual Studio. Microsoft allows anybody to distribute it so that it is available for anybody who needs it. And eu4 versions since 1.31.6 need a relatively new version of this library which many people don't have.

In the game launcher please set Display mode to Borderless. THEN go here:
And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

IF that doesn't help, also Install ALL these Microsoft modules:

(run dxsetup.exe after extracting from this download)

Add EU4.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

Also if you have installed RivaTuner, RadeonPro, or a gaming VPN app called Evolve, or the MSI Gaming App, or Duet, disable it as it clashes with this game.

IF that doesn't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Without the link how do I find them
I linked them in my first comment. You should download them from the official microsoft website from my first link(the second link is the direct link which you can find on that website. Using that makes it clearer which of the several downloads on the site is the correct one).
Did you try to start eu4.exe directly to see if your issue is caused by a missing DLL file? If you have the game on steam, you can find eu4.exe by right clicking on eu4 in the steam library and then clicking on "manage" and then on "browse local files".

Edit: andrewT linked the same website

Did you do this?

If you want to get the launcher working:
If starting from eu4.exe works, that means that the problem is related to the launcher. Usually it is one of the following problems:
  • you configured the game to run as administrator, but the launcher doesn't run as administrator. In that case disable the option to run the game as administrator
  • you have an antivirus or ransomware protection software that prevents the launcher from writing its files. In that case you have to add the launcher(and eu4) to the exception list of your software
    • If you have Windows Defender(also called Microsoft Defender), add the launcher and eu4 to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list(here are instructions for that).
    • If you have bitdefender, add the launcher and eu4 to the list of ransomware exceptions and "give it access" to "protected files".
    • If you have avast, you have to add the launcher and eu4 to the allowed list in the ransomware shield
  • the launcher installation is broken. That can be can often be fixed by reinstalling the launcher:
    • On Windows, first use the windows uninstall function to uninstall "Paradox Launcher v2"(if it is there). And then delete the launcher directories:
      • C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
      • C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
      • C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
      • Documents/paradox interactive/.cpatch/
      • every directory in Documents/paradox interactive/ that starts with launcher-v2
    • In Linux delete the directories ~/.paradoxlauncher and "~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/" and the file "~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcherpath"
    • In macOS delete the directory "~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive"
    • Afterwards you can start the game from steam again to reinstall the launcher.
