Well i posted this in the tech support forum so before anyone tells me to go post there i already did. When i try playing on lan or on the internet, whenever the person joins, it starts to transfer and we get an error saying cannot decompress file, at first i thought it was just my other comp that was messed but now it happens when i transfer it to my friends comp. so something is wrong here, i think my computor might been compressing it wrong or something making it impossible for the recieving computor to decompress. I tried moving the files myself over the lan but im not sure if i moved the right ones, i play HSR 2, so where would the save files be exactly? Incase i did it wrong, thanks for ur help

I got a similar problem when I was missing the savegames folder in the receiving version. This was because I had copied the game to a different drive without that folder, as the savegame files are huge and not needed. The problem went away when I recreated the missing folder. Maybe your directory structure is likewise not as it should be. You might try using a folder comparison tool (e.g. Beyond Compare) to check that the two copies are the same or see what the differences are.

im really starting to lose hope lol, im not sure how to use this comparison thing, im a big newb when it comes to anything that involved more than a click but i mean i reinstalled the games on both my comps i dont see how it could be messed up, no one seems to have any tips besides move the files over myself but for some reason my game knows i have it if i click on single player and try to load the save but if once i join the hosted game it no longer registeres that i have it and it starts compress and send and then gets the error, i moved the files from the scenarios/save folder is there anything im missing?

Try this out:

Find the main directory of the game (perhaps the C:\Program_Files\Paradox Interactive\HoI2\ "folder")

Find the "saved game" directory (C:\Program_Files\Paradox Interactive\HoI2\Scenario\Saved game\, or something like that)

Find the save you're trying to load ("mysavedgame.eug", or whateveryoucalledit.eug)

Delete the file of a similar name but with a ".cfg" ending. Ie. mysavedgame.eug.cfg or mysavedgame.cfg

Try starting the game and loading up the save again.
