Help!

Hey guys
I was wondering if you could help me with some computer problems

Now the first one, isn't really EU2-related, but any assistance you could give me, would be greatly appericated. For about two-three weeks whenever my computer starts up, right after I enter my Windows password, a DLL error message pops up. Then it goes to that Open Program You Wish To Use menu for no reason. Sometimes it also tells me to insert my Windows 98 CD
the DLL message is C:/Program/Newdot~/Newdot~2.DLL
It's very strage, I defragmented my C Drive, and re-installed Windows, but the same thing pops up.
My second problem is EU2-related.
Whenver I go to opne my history fle, it says the log is too big for Notepad, then it tells me to use WordPad. Which is fine, but there's always an error in opening up WordPad. I was just wondering, if you could maybe download WordPad, or unistall it and then re-install it

your 1st problem comes from a software that wasn't uninstalled correctly.



open the registry editor (start menu, run, regedit)
go to the top (home)
file, export and give it the name REG_112202
this will be your backup in case it goes wrong.
then:
edit, find
and type the string you are searching for:C:/Program/Newdot~/Newdot~2.DLL
delete every occurance you will find.

as for the pop up box, close the registry editor and open msconfig (run menu).
go to startup. everything listed there is what is starting when windows is launched. Uncheck everything but one, and restart. If you have the error message, you'll know you have find the problematice one, so you just uncheck it and re-check everything else. If you have no problem, repeat the process by checking another box until you can find what is wrong.
