1. Heroes can only be attached to those heavy infantry soldiers (Knights of Guenevere from K.A. 1 if I remember right)
2. In K.A. 1 you could attach a hero to any kind of unit.
3. Back in K.A. 2 this has made warlords and champions particularly limited in their tactical options. (sages stay in the back and cast spells anyway)
4. There is a retrain option for normal units already (which is a great idea by the way).
5. Would it be possible to "retrain" hero's units into something else?
6. Think of the possibilities, warlords with archers or light infantry for more agility, champions with knights or cavalry for the sheer power, sages with acolytes or priests to use as mana for spells.
7. Continue thinking: you could add new units to the morality wheel like Inquisitors, Warrior Priests, Druids, Priestesses, and Warlocks to power the sages spells or maybe help him/her cast new ones. (Which brings up a good point that the "sages" can take almost as much punishment as champions. Maybe because their protected by the same units.)
8. How about the best body guards cost leadership and can only be obtained through quests, like Pict warriors that have magic immunity, Raven Guard/Golden Griffins that will die to a man before their hero gets hurt, or a dragon mount
I know this won't be put into the game so maybe for the next D.L.C.
