I know about this issue from the times when i started this game, i thought its just a matter of time until there will be a mechanic that will take hills into consideration when it comes to line of sights. I was wrong... Hills are NOT considered while you take a look at the current line of sight. So how to deal with that? There are 2 options... remove hills, or include them into the line of sight... i know the better answer. Its fun if you lose games to it. And there is absolutely nothing you can do about it...

Ok, enemy tank is in range, line of sight OK and i will win the battle so i attack him, switching to another location... 20 seconds later i switch back and see that my tank is about to ram the enemy tank because he is behind a small hill and gets destroyed because of his lower rate of fire. This can happen several times on some maps. Cheers!

Elevation is already afecting line of sight, however the line-of-sight tool does not refect it which make playing in maps with elevation quite a nightmare. I hope Eugen prioratizes fixing this.

Yep, this is the only major issue I have with this game. Point du Hoc drove me absolutely crazy until I figured out I have to do the LOS manually. People on here want to fine tune turret rotation speeds etc, meanwhile the game is implying that I can shoot at an enemy when I actually can't. Let's go after the bigger issue first.

Huh, that sucks. I've never noticed that because I've avoided hill maps in general after the LOS-nightmares of the gently rolling terrain of Red Dragon. Personally, I haven't missed them one bit, but since the game has maps that have them the LOS tool totally should support that.

I'll state up-front that I don't do multiplayer, and I won't pretend to be anything but completely inept with this game. That said, on a map with hills, if you can see that there's a hill between you and the enemy, isn't it likely that you're only seeing that enemy by virtue of recon of some sort, and therefore, doesn't it stand to reason that the only way you can shoot at that enemy unit is with an indirect fire weapon, something capable of plunging fire, or work your way around the hill to use direct fire? Or am I missing something?

I do agree that the LOS tool should account for this in its' rendering, but isn't it really just a minor inconvenience?

Not specific to the game, but many people have difficulty with elevations on topographical maps, and relating map to ground...it's actually very surprising seeing just how many people actually have trouble with that. In context of the game though, it isn't helped by the 'any unit can see an enemy, so all units can see it'.

The problem is when you are near the edge of the slope of a hill in maps like Mont Ormel or Hill112, then it is not clear what units down the slope you actually have line of sight. For example, the other day, I had an m4a3(76mm) on top of the middle hill on Mont Ormel map thinking of ambushing geman heavies coming my way. It ws close to the edge but not on it and it turned out a tiger had line of sight on it from the lower ground from long range. There is also the fact that from elevated positions you can have line of sight over treelines and such and there is no way of knowing but trial an error.
