The pen is mightier than the sword.

Fixed that for you, now you better fix the original, you pervert.:D

Hmmm, swords... Can mean just about anything.

This will obviously be a sci-fi game where one of the alien races fight only with swords. They will also have bony foreheads and speak with lots of capital letters in random places in words.

Hm. I would say this is a Dark Ages game right away, but this might be a red herring; it still could be, as people have already noticed, laser swords we're talking about.

Though I certainly hope not, seeing a Dark Ages game would be awesome.

A dating-sim RPG with a mini-game in which you pull down a set of swords from above the fireplace and duel with a romantic rival?

An Odyssey game?

I guess this means it will be either a game about the Roman Empire, a game about the Dark Ages (I hope not, never liked that time period, and I don't really think "Project Glory" would be adequate for that period) or a game about ancient China, either the Warring States or the Three Kingdoms (my personal favourite). All of these games would take advantage of any new code developed for CK2 given the relative similarity of the settings and the more than likely use of the character system, which would fit all of them nicely.

I guess a game about ancient Greece or Alexander would probably be an expansion for EU:Rome and I can't see Paradox making a game about the bronze age or earlier, but who knows...

Or they could surprise us all and release a game set in the Song of Ice and Fire universe, after Cyanide cancels its own project dismayed at the unexpected lack of bicycles in Westeros. I don't need to say how happy that would make me :D

I'm a *little* disappointed it's not an MDS, but this could still be something unbelievably cool...

British naval officers still get swords for their gala uniform, at least some years back when I met some ;)

Swords got me into the Highlander vibe, some kind of strategic rpg could be awesome.

Well I now thinks its a Paradox Connect MMOG where you fight with swords. (My guess will most likely change with the next hint) :D

A game about the Dark Ages (which I find a fascinating period (Völkerwanderung (Goths, Vandals, Franks, Anglosaxons etc.) , Atilla the Hun, fall of (Western) Rome, Clovis, Charlemagne etc.)) or the Roman Empire (I guess from Augustus to Romulus Augustulus) would be great, but we'll just have to wait and see. :)

Swords: that rules out modern time sim. So that leaves (in my view) either
- ancient time (assyrians/babylonians/perians/alexander/etc)
- dark ages
- napoleonic time
